WAS PAUL SINCERE? QUESTIONING THE APOSTLE'S ETHOS
Abstract
'By the appeal we make...we are not trying to trick you' (2 Cor. 2.17); 'We speak with sincerity' (1 Thess. 2.3-5). For centuries, paul's readers have accepted frequent assertions such as these at face value. Paul is regarded as an unpretentious writer, whose statements on theological matters honestly reflect his true convictions.Authors retain copyright and grant the Journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this Journal.
This is an open access journal, and the authors and journal should be properly acknowledged, when works are cited.
Authors may use the publishers version for teaching purposes, in books, theses, dissertations, conferences and conference papers.
