A SQUARE PEG IN A ROUND HOLE? QUESTIONING THE USE OF THE CONCEPT OF TIME IN TEACHING THE OLD TESTAMENT IN AFRICA
Abstract
A linear concept of time forms the basis of most of our use of the first testament, both scholarly and in faith communities. The African concept of time, however, differs markedly from the conventional Western linear concept. The Biblical concept of time stands somewere in between.Authors retain copyright and grant the Journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this Journal.
This is an open access journal, and the authors and journal should be properly acknowledged, when works are cited.
