Abstract
Dr Antoinette Wire, Professor of the New Testament at San Francisco Theological Seminary and Graduate Theology Union, provides a unique exploration into the social setting and self-understanding of the Corinthian women prophets. In this important contribution to the reconstruction of the early Christian history and theology, Wire demonstrates the fresh, new insights which Perelman/ Olbrechts-Tyteca’s ‘New Rhetoric’ can bring to the growing field of rhetorical criticism.Authors retain copyright and grant the Journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this Journal.
