ON THE THEOLOGICAL EXTRAPOLATION OF BIBLICAL TRAJECTORIES

Ernst M. Conradie

Abstract

This review essay of Klaus Nürnberger’s book, Theology of the Biblical witness,
praises Nürnberger’s attempt to address the relationship between Biblical Studies
and Systematic Theology, outlines a number of attractive hermeneutical positions in
terms of his notion of the contemporary extrapolation of biblical trajectories, but
argues that Nürnberger fails to do justice to the theological complexity of the
biblical witnesses.
