FUNDAMENTALISM – A HISTORICAL SURVEY
Abstract
Fundamentalism is a universal phenomenon which may be described from religious, sociological, political, psychological and other perspectives. The article concentrates on the phenomenon of fundamentalism in Christianity. The phenomenon has historical antecedents in the American Protestant reaction to the liberal theology of the 19th century.
