Abstract

All the contributions in this volume, however different they may be in terms of subject matter and specific focus, deal with aspects of interpretation. More particularly, they deal with the challenge that a changing situation is presenting to the interpretation of biblical texts and the message. They all are, in some form or another, a response to this challenge. As needs change, so will the response from a biblical perspective to these needs change. The breadth of impact that these texts have are clearly illustrated by these contributions, but also their pragmatic implications, that is, the way in which theological discourse inevitable tends to become public discourse.
