ENDINGS - ESPECIALLY REVERSAL ENDINGS
Abstract
This article deals with different endings and especially with reversal endings. This kind of endings is of especial significance to the understanding of the work as a whole, because they cast it in a new or different light. The article contains three examples of reversal endings: the story of Judah and Tamar (Gen. 38); the book of Judges; and psalm 104. It seems to me that the knowledge that sometimes the ending of a biblical unit – story, poem or an entire book – directs readers to re-examine and consider the whole sequence in the light of its concluding information, contributes to our interpretations and may even lead to novel and possibly contradictory ones.Authors retain copyright and grant the Journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this Journal.
This is an open access journal, and the authors and journal should be properly acknowledged, when works are cited.
