Abstract

The point is made that fear is incompatible with genuine faith.  A fearless faith delivers us from studying the Bible in legalistic or literalistic ways.  It enables us to help others search honestly for the life-related meaning of biblical passages in the worlds of the Old and the New Testament, respectively, and in our present world
