Abstract

This paper comprises two sections. The first is a literary-theoretical discussion of the concept of resonance in terms of the narratological notion ‘frequency’, and the reception-ethical concept ’vacancy’.In the second part it is shown how the discourse about Jesus’ paying of the Temple tax resounds not only with other temple pericopes in Matthew’s narrative, but also with extra-textual artifacts.
