Résumé

The contribution to this issue all focus on aspects of the contextual interpretation of the Bible. The first four are papers discussed by a research group on hermeneutics at its first meeting in Stellenbosch in September 1989. The last two deal with related issues-Nicol provides an incisive analysis of the controversial study of Albert Nolan on God in South Africa, while Dormeyer describes the basic elements of his model of interactional Bible interpretation as applied to a narrative in Mark 3.
