THE RELEVANCE OF BIBLICAL STUDIES IN A PLURAL SOCIETYAfter defining the basic concepts involved, the reasons for the decline of Biblical Studies at schools are discussed. This is followed by a critical evaluation of various attempts to make the Bible relevant in the contemporary situation. The article concludes with specific guidelines and recommendations for realizing the full potential of Biblical Studies in the school situation, stressing aspects like the plural context, the dynamics of faith, responsible use of the Bible, a self-critical attitude, intergroup co-operation and curriculum reform.Téléchargements
